Directions
From the Frederick, MD area:

Take US 15 South toward Charles Town, WV. Take US 340 South and bypass Charles Town.  Shortly after entering Virginia (a few miles), you will take an exit ramp to the right for VA Rt. 7 West.
Stay on VA Rt. 7 West about 10 miles to Interstate 81, at Interstate 81 go South about 4 or 5 miles to exit # 310, the Kernstown exit, and then follow the Local Winchester Directions at this link, or scroll to them below.

From the Washington, D.C. area you can take three different routes:
1. (Fastest) From Washington, DC: I-66 route

From Constitution Ave enter Virginia on Interstate 66 West till it ends at Interstate 81 about 75 miles, go North on Interstate 81 about 10 miles to exit # 310, the Kernstown exit, then follow the local Winchester directions below.

2. (Scenic) From Fairfax City area:
Take US Rt. 50 West (This goes through the scenic Middleburg horse country, US 50 is two lanes in some areas and the traffic is a little slower).  Go about 52 miles to Winchester, at Interstate 81 go South about 2 or 3 miles to the next exit which is exit # 310 (Kernstown), then follow the local Winchester directions below.  

3. (Scenic Alternate) From Tysons Corner area:
Take the Dulles Toll road SR-267, 23 miles to US-15 Byp ramp (Left) 1 mile towards US-15 / VA-7 / Leesburg / Warrenton 1 mile then keep STRAIGHT onto SR-7 (Berryville Pike) 35 miles to I-81 south towards Roanoke.  Go 5 miles to exit #310 and follow the Local Directions below.

 Winchester Area Directions
From I-81 exit #310 ramp turn Right onto VA-37 towards Romney and Berkeley Springs.  Go about 5 miles and exit to ramp for US-50 / Winchester / Romney.  

At the bottom of the ramp turn Left on US-50 West towards Romney.  Go west on US RT. 50 for about 2.5 - 3 miles and turn left on VA RT. 608 (Wardensville Grade)

Go 4 1/2 miles to a hard left turn on VA RT. 618 (Gough Rd.)

Go to the 8th driveway on the right (approximately 1/2 mile).  There are 3 mailboxes together, one says "376 Vance" on it.  Turn right  and take the driveway back past the yellow house and garage, which will be on your left after you have made the turn, go about 1/2 mile through the woods to the Pioneer Retriever Kennel.
